We are excited to introduce a new Leadership Program at R. E. Training Center, designed to help our young students grow into a strong, respectful, and responsible individual—on and off the mats!
As part of this program, kids will have the opportunity to earn colored stripes on their belt, each representing an important character trait:
-
🟡 Respect – Showing kindness and courtesy to instructors, teammates, teachers, and family.
-
🔵 Attention – Staying focused in class, at school, and while listening to parents.
-
🟢 Being Helpful – Assisting others, whether at home, in class, or in the community.
-
🔴 Attendance – Showing commitment by regularly attending and participating in class.
How It Works:
Stripes can be earned through consistent positive behavior and can also be taken away if a student does not uphold these values—whether in class, at school, or at home. However, the good news is that removed stripes can always be re-earnedthrough repeated good behavior.
To receive their next degree (white stripe) and continue progressing towards their next belt, students must have all four colored stripes at promotion time.
Parents Role:
We believe in working together to support our students’s growth. Parents who notice positive or concerning behavior at home or school, are encouraged to communicate with us so we can reinforce these lessons in class.
This program is more than just about Jiu-Jitsu—it’s about building good citizens. We look forward to partnering with Topeka’s Parents to help their children become the best adults they can be.
