R. E. Training Center Students Excel and Learn at Jiu Jitsu Con 2024
Several R. E. Training Center students traveled to Las Vegas over Labor Day Weekend to compete at World Master and Jiu Jitsu Con. Here are some of the highlights:
- Seminar with Gabi Pessanha, the reigning “Queen” of women’s Jiu Jitsu. Along with her professor Marcio de Deus, she taught a seminar on opening the guard and ankle locks.
- Seminar with the Art of Jiu Jitsu Founders, the Mendes brothers. This very well attended seminar focused on leg drag concepts and careful planning when setting up transitions.
- The First Women’s-Only Seminar with Leka Viera, which focused on knee shield passing.
In addition, two of our students won some great hardware in brackets with other world class competitors. Nina took Bronze in Jiu Jitsu Con Kids, Orange Belt Super Heavy; Rylee took Bronze in Jiu jitsu Con, Juvenile Blue Middle Weight, and she took Silver in Jiu Jitsu Con No-Gi, Juvenile Blue Middle Weight. Congrats to the girls and to everyone who went!
