At Roney Edler Training Center, we believe Jiu-Jitsu is more than a sport—it’s a family. Our academy in Topeka, KS is a welcoming, inclusive space where students of all ages and backgrounds come together to support one another, work hard, and grow—on and off the mats.

We are proud to be the only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Topeka that accepts young children, with classes specifically designed to teach discipline, focus, and confidence through age-appropriate training. Our Kids’ Leadership Program goes a step further—helping students build life skills, develop responsibility, and learn how to lead by example.

For adults just starting out, our Fundamentals Program is the perfect place to begin. This beginner-friendly class welcomes students of all athletic backgrounds and fitness levels. You’ll learn how to move safely and effectively through the foundational techniques and concepts of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a supportive and structured environment.

Led by Professor Roney Edler Barroso Da Silva, a 2nd-degree black belt and the only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor in Topeka, we offer a direct connection to the roots of the sport. As the head coach and founder of Sertão Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Professor Roney brings deep knowledge, technical excellence, and a passion for sharing authentic Jiu-Jitsu.
